The Huthwaite Community Action Group is a team of volunteers whose meetings invitingly voice concerns.
First chaired and grouped in earliest years of 2000 by Nottinghamshire County Councillor David Kirkham. Annually elected members have since evolved into a locally influential committee. Their name shows aims, focused upon taking appropriate action following calls for improving life among the Huthwaite community.
Updates concerning next meeting arrangements, relevant contacts and current issues are publically displayed among their new notice boards sited around the village. Regular attendance is made by local Ashfield District Councillors, ably and independently willing to jointly assist through elected roles. The executives invite talks from Community Wardens and the police while liasing between various other professional bodies including support workers and carers.
Agendas frequently raised security measures, aware of crime and antisocial behaviour among local hot spots. Busier highway safety plus improvements in services and facilities are common topics for vulnerable residents while raising funds for youngster attractions.
