John Davis SchoolThis high Barker Street school was first opened in 1960 when providing Huthwaites only ever secondary school. Village secondary classes ended 1977 under County Councils educational re-organisation, keeping this most modern spacious structure for transferring all younger pupils with renaming from original New Street schools.
All Saints SchoolBuilt in 1891 atop Common Road, this Church of England school uniquely continues teaching some of Huthwaites youngest today as an alternative start before reaching John Davis School. Classrooms remain partly funded by Anglican Southwell diocese. Its naming reflecting parish dedication after facing the 1903 built village church.
Nottinghamshire County Council Educational ServicesAll formal state education here falls under control of the Nottinghamshire County Council services. Their website contains fullest listing of all the areas schools with information detailing contacts, school terms, Ofsted reports and relevant performance tables. Most Huthwaite pupils are however transferred into these established Secondary Schools.
Ashfield ComprehensiveNottinghamshire's first purpose built comprehensive school opened in 1964. The self-contained 40 acre rural campus is fully equipped following 1998 designation into Technology College status. A school Bus service does provide several Huthwaite pickup points.
Sutton Centre SchoolOpened in 1973 when classrooms introduced a radically new method for self tutorial type teaching. Integrated as part a much larger sports and leisure complex, Sutton Centre Community College caters for around 960 pupils aged 11-18, with a closer popular schooling alternative.
