With a spelling correction the identification of George Gutteridge is qualified in the following press Memorial published just five days after his death through illness. His parents John and Elizabeth were addressed 12 Lime Street Huthwaite Notts,. Late of Loughborough, Leicestershire. Though George joined a Lincolnshire regiment he had reportedly been transferred to 16986 29th Coy. Labour Corps.

Gutteridge - On November 17th. At the 2nd. Australian Hospital, France, (from pneumonia), Private George Gutteridge, Notts and Derbys, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Gutteridge, Lime Street, Huthwaite, aged 33 years. "God's finger touched him and he slept" - from Mother, Father, brother and Sister.
