Notts Free Press - In Memorium 30th. November, 1917:- Marriott -
In loving memory of Private Godfrey Marriott of Huthwaite, who was killed in action, Somewhere in France, November 14th 1916, aged 30 years. I think I see his smiling face, As he bade me his last "Good-bye"; As he left forever, in a distant land to die. But the hardest part is yet to come, When the heroes all return; As I miss amongst the cheering crowd, The face of one I loved.
From his loving Mother, Brothers, and Brother's Wife (Nellie).
