Mapping Huthwaite Developments
1835 Hamlet of Hucknall-under-Huthwaite
Representing our first detailed view of Huthwaite dates back to this 1835 survey produced by Sanderson from his publication titled Twenty Miles Around Mansfield
. Interesting features include the source of the River Meden and the county divisional line following Blackwell Brook that runs southward from our former Old Hucknall Colliery when sited below Hopkin Lane. Residential housing forming Main Street is clearly shown adding initial support for homing a growing population between the existing scattered farms
