Mapping Huthwaite Developments
1951 Thomas Hopkins Estate
This surveyors map spans west half of Huthwaite, stretching length of the original Hopkins Lane renamed as Blackwell Road. Plotting the remaining estate held by a late T. Hopkins, sold by auction at the Peacock Hotel in 1951, from which my grandfather purchased two family houses. Centred is a recently built Bonsor Crescent, but interest is found also clearly mapping out older yards and buildings prior major clearances.
