An excellent reference source for detailing some of the historic activities in Huthwaite obviously comes from the earliest local press reports. Copies or transcriptions of family held clippings have been kindly sent and most gratefully received for supporting their own ancestral knowledge. It would be most helpful however if these could be supplied where ever possible with an original dating, title, author or publisher. This not only allows verification for what is believed being a true account, but also in checking copyrights for publication.

Having compiled a growing reference library for generally listing books and rarer material for broadening research, there are often instances when finding just a single paragraph can offer a little detailed mention concerning folk or activities of quotable relevance to our Huthwaite history. Past local newspapers are often found archived among the Nottingham and Derby county libraries, either in print or microfiche from which snippets of information are slowly becoming gathered as and when timed findings permit.

Transcribing those articles eventually found indexed here online may indeed help readers far and wide into discovering ancestral interests. It will though allow easier cross referencing made between any other future related topics raised among village interests. As and when press publications are found, here will compile another list more specifically indexing public availability and their source for further personal reference.
